What is ADAS recalibration?

Modern vehicles use Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like lane-keep assist and emergency braking. After replacing a windshield, vehicle manufacturers require your forward facing camera to be recalibrated to ensure your ADAS system continue to function accurately and safely.

How long will the appointment take?

Chip repairs generally take 30 minutes. Full windshield replacements typically take 60-90 minutes, plus an additional 30 minutes for the adhesive to cure before it's safe to drive. Recalibrations can take up to 60 minutes.

How soon should I fix a chip or crack?

It is best to fix glass damage as soon as possible. Temperature fluctuations and road vibrations can easily cause a small chip to spread into a large crack, eventually requiring a more expensive full replacement. If possible put a piece of clear packing tape on the outside of the window over the chip to help keep dust and residue out - this will help the chip fill clearer.

Will I still see the chip after being repaired?

Yes, you will still be able to see where the chip repair was done. How visible it is depends on how quickly the damage was repaired, what debris got into the chip, the type of break, and its location on the glass. In most cases, the repair will look much cleaner and help prevent the damage from spreading, but it may still be noticeable in certain lighting or at certain angles. The primary goal of filling a chip is to restore the structural integrity of the glass; any improvement in appearance is a cosmetic benefit.

Is my damage repairable or do I need a full replacement?

Small chips and short cracks can often be repaired quickly. However, larger or deep cracks, or damage located directly in the driver’s line of sight, typically require a full windshield replacement to ensure safety and visibility.

Do you handle insurance claims and will my rates go up?

Yes. We work with most insurance providers. We can assist you with the claims process, often resulting in $0 out-of-pocket cost for chip repairs if you have comprehensive coverage. Most insurance policies cover glass repair or replacement under comprehensive coverage with little to no impact on your rates. We recommend checking with your specific provider to confirm your coverage details.

Do you offer a warranty on your work and glass?

Yes, we stand behind our workmanship. We offer a lifetime warranty against leaks and stress cracks from installation for as long as you own the vehicle. Our warranty does not cover any new chips, cracks, or other damage after service.

What should I do to prepare my vehicle for the appointment?

Please park your vehicle on a flat surface with ample space for the technician - if possible park it under shade. Clear the dashboard of any personal items, and have your keys for the appointment. If your appointment includes a recalibration, please empty items weighing more than a backpack.

Do you use OEM or aftermarket glass?

We offer both OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and high-quality aftermarket options. Our experts will help you choose the best fit based on your vehicle's requirements, budget, and insurance coverage.
